Fidra Community Fund
We have established a £20,000 annual Community Fund to support local causes. The fund will be open to applications from community groups within a defined local area and will be fair, transparent and easy to access.
Update July 2026
Applications for the first round are now closed and are currently being considered by the panel, with awards to successful applicants to be made soon. Thank you to everyone who applied.
We look forward to opening our next round of funding via this website, so please do keep checking back for updates.
Who is the Fund for?
The Fund supports small, community-led projects that improve quality of life, strengthen community resilience and respond to locally identified needs within the immediate area surrounding our project site at Thorpe Marsh.
It is intentionally designed to be accessible to small and informal groups.
Applications will be accepted from:
- Registered charities
- Community Interest Companies (CICs)
- Schools and other not-for-profit educational institutions
- Constituted community or voluntary groups
- Parish councils
- Informal or unconstituted groups are eligible to apply provided they are made up of two or more people, have a clear community purpose, and can demonstrate appropriate arrangements for managing the grant
- Organisations and groups must nominate a responsible person and either hold a suitable bank account or be supported by a constituted sponsor organisation.
The Fund prioritises projects that:
- Deliver clear benefit to residents living close to the site
- Are shaped and delivered by local people
- Address practical community needs
- Represent good value for money.
